Final Cognate Style GuideOverview: A style guide is a set of standards for the visual display of a brand with the purpose of improving communication. Style guides for large companies can be lengthy, but for this project, it’s only a page.Feedback: Initially I had begun with a complementary indigo-yellow colour scheme, but after seeking advice from family and classmates, including Cindy Pan, it was decided that indigo wasn’t a youthful or vibrant enough colour. Additionally, there were much revisions done with the layout of the style guide. I had set out with two main formats; the current format above, and a more boxed format below. Although the bottom template is more organised, the top template was seen as more modern, and visually more free (more white space). Finally, the most impactful suggestion was to incorporate the trademark into the brand name, resulting in the final logo.
